Hot Stone Massage

What is a Hot Stone Massage?

Hot Stone Massage is the application of water-heated basalt stones to key points on the body, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth. The penetrating heat from the hot stones relaxes the muscles, which allows for deeper relaxation, when compared with regular massage therapy.

What can you expect in a Hot Stone Massage Treatment?

The Hot stones feel warm and relaxing as they glide over the muscles. Prior to your arrival, the Therapist will have sanitized the stones, water basin and will heat the stones to 120 to 150 degrees in fresh water. Placement of the hot stones on the spine and extremities improves circulation, the flow of energy and sense of relaxation.

Basalt Stones

The Basalt stones originate from the mountains of northwestern costal regions of Argentina and Peru. Over many hundreds of years, erosion occurs and the stones are carried back out into the sea. This is when the basalts become so smooth because of constant movement in the water. The stones are hand picked along the Pacific shore and are used as they are found in nature.
